Ansu Fati hit by another blow after sustaining foot injury in Barcelona training

Barcelona have announced that Ansu Fati has been sidelined with a foot injury picked up in pre-season training this week.

Fati has been back at Barcelona following his season-long loan spell with Brighton and is hoping to impress new boss Hansi Flick.

However, he’s been hit with a fresh setback as Barca have confirmed he’s picked up a new injury problem.

A statement read: ”In training today, first team player Ansu Fati suffered a foot injury. He will undergo conservative treatment in Barcelona and his return to training will be determined by his recovery time.”

It’s being reported that the injury will keep Fati out of the team’s upcoming pre-season tour of the United States which will be a massive blow to his chances of trying to force his way into the squad for next season.

Flick had handed Fati an individualised training program for pre-season in a bid to try and get the youngster back to his very best form.

It’s not clear yet how long Fati will be out of action for, but there’s no doubt there is another frustrating setback for the forward.
