Barça Alètic bids farewell to some players

This June 30th was a day of goodbyes at Can Barça. The Barça team, with some difficulties, bid farewell to players whose contracts were ending, except for Sergi Roberto. Additionally, Barça Atlètic also confirmed the departures of Pau Víctor, Moha, Pelayo, Marc Vidal, Naim, Cuéllar, Iker Goujon, Josep Cerdà, and Saïdou Bah.

Saying goodbye to loaned players

Pau Víctor, Moha, Marc Vidal, Naim, and Jaume Cuéllar will be returning to their respective teams after spending a season on loan with the Barça reserve team.

Pau Víctor will head back to Girona after an impressive season under Rafa Márquez. The forward had a fantastic year, contributing significantly to the reserve team until the last playoff game. He ended the season with 20 goals and six assists in 39 games.

The club is still interested in a new deal after failing to exercise the purchase option for the striker, which expired on April 1st.

Moha and Marc Vidal will return to Andorra. These two captains of the reserve team played crucial roles in Márquez’s strategies and led a team filled with young talent. As a midfielder, this was their second consecutive loan spell. Moha played a total of 40 games, all as a starter, and scored two goals, while Marc Vidal featured in 25 games and was Márquez’s go-to choice in important matches.

Naim made a significant impact since joining from Leganés in January. The winger brought quality to the right wing, and Márquez felt his absence due to injury during the playoffs. His loan spell concludes after playing 16 games and scoring four goals.

Jaume Cuéllar had a more supporting role since arriving last summer from Lugo. He played 27 games, starting 8 of them, and coming on as a substitute in 19, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

End of contracts

Pelayo Fernández is wrapping up his time at Barça after spending five seasons with the club. The Asturian player, who bid farewell to the fans a few days back, joined Barça in the summer of 2019 from CD Quirinal and is now leaving for free after two seasons with Barça Atlètic, where he participated in 18 games this past season.

Iker Goujón will also be saying goodbye to Barça after a season with the Catalan club. The player from Tarragona arrived last summer from Villarreal B and unfortunately, due to a serious injury to the collateral ligament in his left leg, he was only able to play five games, scoring one goal.

Josep Cerdà and Saïdou Bah are also set to leave the culé discipline once their contracts end. However, neither of them had the chance to play with Márquez as they were loaned to Ponferradina and CD Badajoz respectively. Cerdà joined Barça in the 2019/20 season after coming from Constancia in Juvenil B, while Bah started in the 2011/12 season as a first-year Benjamín and went through the entire training period at La Masia.
