Barcelona Atletic clash postponed as Albert Sanchez runs out of players
Barcelona Atletic’s clash against Real Sociedad which was scheduled for this weekend has been postponed due to a lack of players.
The two teams were due to meet on Saturday but Barca have less than 11 players available and so the game has been called off.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“The Barça Atlètic – Real Sociedad B match of matchday 8 of group 1 of the Primera Federación , scheduled for this Saturday, October 12 at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, has been postponed. The call-ups of the lower national teams, in a week of break in the First Division competitions, and the injuries accumulated by the Barça reserve team have left the team with less than 11 available players, so the match has been postponed.”
Albert Sanchez is without a host of players due to call-ups to Spain’s youth teams. Pau Prim, Héctor Fort, Andrés Cuenca, Guillermo Fernández and Juan Hernández are with the Under-19s, while Landry Farré, Xavi Espart, Eder Aller, Quim Junyent and Toni Fernández are with the Under-18 team.
In addition, Pedro Soma Noah Darvich Yaakobishvili have also been called up to their national teams for Under-21 fixtures.
Barca Atletic are also struggling with injuries right now with Diego Percan, Mamadou Mbacke, Oscar Urena, Dani Rodriguez, Victor Barbera, Diego Kochen all currently sidelined.
