Barcelona believe Nico Williams closer to ‘yes’ than ‘no’, fresh contacts made

There is much excitement in the Barcelona camp surrounding the arrival of Dani Olmo. The Spanish international has reportedly completed his medical and could soon be officiated as a Barça player.

Olmo’s addition could go a long way in boosting Barcelona’s attacking lines. However, the club remain in the race to sign previous top target Nico Williams.

Barcelona still on Nico hunt

According to Gerard Romero, the Nico Williams saga is well and truly alive and Barcelona have not given up hope just yet.

The Spanish journalist adds that Barcelona were in contact with Nico’s camp yesterday, potentially discussing a move to Catalonia.

Barça, in fact, appear to have revived the Nico Williams saga, with the hope that the forward could make a last-minute decision to join the Catalan giants.

According to Xavier Valls on OnzeTv3, there is still optimism in the Barcelona camp over Nico’s deal, as the player has yet to offer his final verdict.

In fact, there is a strong belief within the Blaugrana offices that the player is closer to saying “yes” to them than “no”.

Time, though, could be of the essence for Barcelona. The Catalans do not currently have the economic capacity to pull out deals for both Olmo and Nico in the same window.

As such, they might need to sanction more exits in order to not only generate fresh revenue but also free the wage bill.

So, Barça will need to move some parts around but despite what has been said over the past week or so, it appears that Nico Williams’ deal is still alive.
