Barcelona confirm agreement with Aramark to cover missing payment on pending economic lever

Barcelona confirmed on Thursday an agreement with American food service company Aramark for the sale of 10% of Barça Vision, which will cover the missing payment of €40 million from a previous deal with German company Libero.

Here is part of Barça’s statement on the agreement:

“FC Barcelona and Aramark have announced a new strategic agreement through the current catering and hospitality provider for the Club becomes a Barça Vision shareholder (Bridgeburg Invest), as well as a new Espai Barça partner.

With this agreement FC Barcelona manages to strengthen the Barça Vision structure with a strategic and expert business partner in the search for business opportunities related to the hospitality industry and that of gastronomic experiences within large sporting facilities.”

This new agreement is key for Barça’s finances as one of the many economic “levers” used by president Joan Laporta during the club’s financial crisis. The missing payment from Libero now covered by Aramark helps Barça to close their 2023-24 accounts without any losses, and allows them to operate within La Liga’s 1:1 rule and finish their pending registrations.
