Barcelona could pocket €5 million from new sponsorship agreement, announcement soon
FC Barcelona’s quest for financial stability continues, with the club exploring new sponsorship avenues in order to balance the books and boost the club’s abilities in the transfer market.
Earlier today, it was reported that Barcelona are closing in on a new sponsorship deal for shorts, which is expected to bring in some cash into the coffers.
However, the report did not specify the details of the negotiations or the value of the sponsorship agreement.
€5 million sponsorship boost for Barcelona
But now, Mundo Deportivo has offered more updates on Barcelona’s new sponsorship agreement, offering more light and the exact amount of the new deal.
The Blaugrana are in the final stages of securing a sponsorship deal for their shorts – a first for the club in recent history.
This agreement, if finalized, would bring in a significant €5 million per season for Barcelona.
The inclusion of a sponsor on the shorts has been under consideration for some time now. This potential deal would be a welcome financial boost, providing much-needed wiggle room within La Liga’s financial fair play regulations.
The additional revenue would significantly ease restrictions and potentially pave the way for exciting new signings to bolster the squad. It must be noted that Barça are in active negotiations for the services of top target Nico Williams.
When will Barcelona announce the new deal?
The announcement of the partnership is expected to take place at the prestigious Joan Gamper trophy on August 12, when the club take on AS Monaco.
Printing deadlines might slightly delay the official unveiling, but an announcement seems imminent.
In case the delay does come into effect, Barcelona are hopeful of unveiling the new shorts sponsor on the day of the season opener against Valencia on August 17.
