Barcelona have already set a date for €60 million-rated injured star’s return – report
Earlier today, FC Barcelona announced that new signing Dani Olmo had suffered a hamstring injury and would be sidelined for a period of four to five weeks.
It was a big blow for the Blaugrana considering that the Spanish international had been in red-hot form since making his debut last month – scoring three goals in three matches.
Initially, it was suggested that Olmo, who sustained the injury on Sunday against Girona, would be out for about only 7-10 days but the situation turned out to be a bit more complicated than that.
Date set for Olmo’s return
Now, according to Toni Juanmarti, Olmo’s injury is not serious but only a minor one.
However, Barcelona do not wish to take any risks with the Spaniard given his past history with injuries – he missed 29 games last season and 22 during the 2022/23 season.
Given that Barça have huge matches coming up against the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in a little over a month, they do not wish to risk anything with the in-form attacking midfielder.
As such, the idea is for Olmo to make a return to on-field action in the game against Sevilla on October 20 at Montjuic.
It would mean that Olmo will not play for Spain during the international break next month with the plan being for him to rest and recuperate for the next four weeks and come back against Los Nervionenses.
The game against Sevilla comes right before the aforementioned fixtures against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for which Barcelona hope to have Olmo ready, fit and firing.
