Barça will pay Leipzig a €55 million transfer fee with an extra €7 million in add-ons which will bring the total value to €62 million, 2 million euros more than Leipzig’s original asking price.
Olmo and Barça had already agreed a contract until 2030 last week, so the final hurdle to clear was to reach an agreement with Leipzig. Sporting director Deco has now achieved that goal, and we should expect an official announcement any time now.
Dani Olmo is set to return after a decade away from Camp Nou, having begun his career as a hot La Masia prospect before joining Dinamo Zagreb, then moving to Leipzig where became a world-class player and was at the heart of Spain’s Euro 2024 title run.
Welcome back home, Dani Olmo!
