Barcelona reject €20 million offer from Lazio for Vitor Roque – report
Barcelona have already seemingly made the decision to let go of forward Vitor Roque this summer just six months after his debut for the Blaugrana, but they want to make sure to get at least some return on the huge investment made to sign the Brazilian last year.
That’s why the Catalans have reportedly rejected a €20 million offer from Lazio for Roque, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport. The Serie A side’s offer was to acquire 50% of the player’s rights, which would ensure Barça receive half of the profits from a future sale.
But the Blaugrana have set Roque’s price at €40 million to complete his permanent exit this summer, and had already agreed a deal with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for that amount before Roque and his agents turned down a move to Saudi Arabia despite the giant salary offer on the table for the young striker.
The Brazilian still wants to earn a spot in Hansi Flick’s side but knows the club plans to sell him, and Barça will not make an extra effort to register the 19-year-old if there is no space in the salary cap at the end of the transfer window.
Vitor Roque’s future is very much up in the air, and it feels as though he won’t be a Barça player for long. But it also seems he won’t leave until the Catalans get exactly what they want.
