Barcelona set for crunch talks with RB Leipzig to finalize Dani Olmo deal
Barcelona have entered a crucial stage of negotiations in their bid to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig and are set for a very important meeting on Tuesday that could finalize the deal, according to multiple reports.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Barça sporting director Deco traveled to Germany on Monday night for a meeting with Leipzig officials and Dani Olmo’s agents to try and reach an agreement, with the player himself also present to express his desire to join Barça this summer.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed MD’s report and added another important detail: Barça are willing to change the terms of their last reported offer of €55 million guaranteed with another €7 million in add-ons to finally convince Leipzig to accept their proposal.
The German club have maintained all along that they won’t settle for less than €60 million guaranteed, but Deco will make one last attempt to offer a payment structure that convinces Leipzig to sell and saves the Blaugrana as much as possible. Barça and Olmo already have full agreement on a six-year contract, so the only hurdle left to clear is a deal with Leipzig, a club notoriously difficult to negotiate with.
The end of the Dani Olmo soap opera is, one way or another, seemingly set to come very soon. Will Barça get their man or will Leipzig hold strong? We could find out by the end of the day.
