Barcelona star names Man City goal-machine as the rival player he would want on his team
During an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona midfielder Pedri revealed that he would choose Manchester City goal-machine Erling Haaland if given a chance to have a rival player on his team.
Haaland is one of the best goalscorers in the game currently and has been breaking records for fun in the Premier League since joining Manchester City back in 2022.
Interestingly, Barcelona were one of the clubs in the running to secure his services as Joan Laporta sought to make a marquee signing, although nothing came of it.
There have been murmurs of Laporta & co. returning for Haaland in the future once the club’s financial situation has become a bit more stable, especially with the presidential elections looming.
Now, Pedri has revealed his admiration for the Manchester City hitman, picking him as the one rival player he would like to have on his team.
During the interview, the Barcelona midfield maestro also revealed that he would like to be ‘Dani Olmo’ if he was born again and became a football player.
The 21-year-old Spaniard jokingly picked Lamine Yamal as the one player he would not share a room with while also revealing that he would have liked to be a right-back if not a midfielder.
When asked to name a dream that is yet to fulfilled, Pedri replied: “To win a World Cup.”
