Barcelona superstar will be fit for Girona clash despite injury scare – report

According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona star Dani Olmo is expected to be fit and ready to play in the upcoming match against Girona.

This news comes as a relief to many, especially since Olmo missed Spain’s UEFA Nations League game against Switzerland. However, he did feature in the first game of the break, playing against Serbia.

During that match, he was replaced by Joselu. The reason for his substitution was due to a significant blow he received in a clash with an opponent.

Although the blow was impactful, the decision to remove him from the game was precautionary. As a result of the injury scare, Olmo did not play any part in Spain’s second match against Switzerland.

Not a serious injury

Medical tests were carried out, which confirmed that there was no serious injury, but the pain was enough for him to be cautious and avoid any unnecessary risks.

Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente, decided it was best not to push the player, allowing him to rest and recover fully. Now, it is said that Olmo is expected to be fully available for Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Girona on Sunday.

Barcelona are currently in excellent form, having won all 12 points available so far in the season. Olmo has played a crucial role in this strong start.

He made his season debut against Rayo Vallecano, coming on as a substitute and scoring a goal. He followed that up with another goal in the comfortable victory over Valladolid.

Hansi Flick, a firm supporter of Olmo’s signing, has entrusted him with a leadership role in the team. He has quickly become a key figure in Barcelona’s squad after being highlighted as the star signing during the summer transfer window.

Now, as the Blaugrana look to continue their winning run, Olmo is determined to maintain his impressive form and deliver for the team on the pitch.
