Barcelona teenage prodigy wanted on loan by South American giants
Along with Ansu Fati, Vitor Roque was another Barcelona outcast who was going to be given an opportunity to impress in the pre-season campaign.
While Fati appears to have wooed the Barça camp with his performances in training so far, the same cannot be said for Roque.
The Brazilian continues to struggle to gain the trust of the Barcelona camp and is running the risk of being offloaded this summer, especially if the club manage to sign Nico Williams.
Corinthians interested in Vitor Roque
Vitor Roque has had no shortage of suitors either. A host of European clubs have sounded out a potential move for the young forward in the past few weeks.
But it appears a return to Brazil cannot be ruled out either, as Corinthians have notably expressed the desire to sign the youngster this summer.
This is according to TV Band (h/t Diario SPORT), which suggests Corinthians are desperately looking for attacking reinforcements this summer, with Vitor Roque emerging as the ideal option.
During his time at Athletico Paranaense, Roque had established himself as one of the best young talents in Brazilian football.
Although the youngster has struggled to replicate those performances in Spain, his stock in his native Brazil remains quite high.
Corinthians, therefore, want to sign Roque on a loan deal this summer. The club have already informed the player’s agent, Andre Cury, of their interest.
Barcelona, though, are favouring a permanent sale for Vitor Roque, even though the club were initially hoping to loan out the young Brazilian.
For the time being, though, the Catalans will not make any hasty moves in regards to Roque. The attacker, in fact, will be allowed to travel to the pre-season trip to the United States, where he will have an opportunity to prove himself to new coach Hansi Flick.
