Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen is ruled out with an Achilles Tendon injury. The Danish centre-back is out till November. Young attacker Ansu Fati is recovering from a foot injury but the match against Rayo Vallecano may be too early for him.

Dutch midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, who is the highest-paid player in LaLiga, is struggling with an ankle problem while Gavi is recovering from an ACL injury. Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo also suffered a hamstring injury during the Copa America and will be out till December.

New-signing Dani Olmo didn’t play the last match against Athletic Bilbao due to physical discomfort. It is likely that the winger will be fit for the midweek clash but Flick may integrate Olmo back slowly into the squad.

Barcelona secured a 2-1 victory over Bilbao in the last match and are currently sitting on top of LaLiga table with 6 points in two matches. The match against Rayo Vallecano will be their penultimate before the international break as they host Real Valladolid on August 31.
