Barcelona’s 2024/25 kit launches have faced major issues, leading to widespread frustration, dubbed by many as “kit chaos,” according to Footy Headlines

The launch, which has been delayed multiple times already, has been far from smooth, as after weeks of waiting, the club finally revealed its 2024-25 away kit. Despite the kit’s eventual release, significant problems have emerged.

The Barcelona 2024-25 away kit has been highly praised by fans and the global football community, drawing immense attention. However, this popularity has only highlighted the issues surrounding its launch. 

Issues with the away kit

The main problem stems from Spotify’s decision to update its logo during the production process. As a result, the home and away kits were originally produced with the older logo. 

While the home kit was sold with the old logo, Barcelona attempted to avoid repeating this mistake with the away kit.

Nike, unfortunately, complicated matters further. The Barça 24-25 away kit, featuring the old Spotify logo, was mistakenly uploaded on a local website before being quickly removed. 

Now, only Barcelona are selling the away kit with the new Spotify logo. To add to the confusion, the kit is only available through the club’s official channels, not via Nike or other retailers. Even more frustrating for fans, the authentic version is sold out in most sizes.

This chaos may be tied to concerns that retailers could mistakenly sell kits with the old Spotify logo. Despite the uncertainty, it is said that away kits with the old logo could appear later this month.

The strained relationship between Barcelona and Nike has worsened the situation, which has been problematic since the start of the year. For the first time in years, a major Nike jersey is unavailable through Nike on launch day. 

Fans who managed to purchase the Barça 24-25 away kit will face further delays, as the club won’t begin dispatching these kits until late September 2024.

As a result, fans and retailers are left in a state of uncertainty. With no clear global launch date and ongoing confusion about the old Spotify logo, this chaotic situation reflects larger issues between Barcelona, Nike, and their sponsor.
