Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Hansi Flick nominated for August La Liga awards

Barcelona’s great start to the season has been recognised by La Liga with Lamine Yamal and Hansi Flick both nominated for August awards.

Yamal is up for the Under-23 Player of the Month after an impressive start to the campaign which has brought four assists and a goal in just four outings.

Barca’s teenage sensation has been nominated along with Pablo Barrios, Christantus Uche, Raul Moro and Alejo Véliz.

It’s been a good week for Yamal who has also been nominated for the Kopa Trophy and the Ballon d’Or this week after starring for Barcelona and Spain.

Hansi Flick is also in contention for an early prize. The German coach has overseen a perfect start to his career in La Liga and may well scoop the Coach of the Month award.

Barca’s new boss faces competition from Luis Garcia and Marcelino, with Alaves and Villarreal also both enjoying strong starts to the new campaign.
