Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo sends out strong message as he recovers from surgery
Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has sent out a motivational message as he recovers from hamstring surgery that’s ruled him out for around four months.
Araujo went under the knife in Finland after picking up the problem at the Copa America while playing for Uruguay.
We may not see Araujo again until 2025, with Barca considering not registering him until next year due to his injury, but he seems to be in good spirits.
“Disappear for a while. Work on yourself. Come back unrecognizable,” he wrote in a post on Instagram stories.
Araujo’s return will surely be a big boost for the team when he is finally able to get back on the pitch.
In the meantime it will be interesting to see how Flick lines up his backline this season. He has plenty of center-backs in his squad, with Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia and Inigo Martinez around, but fewer options at full-back.
