FC Barcelona decides to discard two players for the winter transfer market
The FC Barcelona infirmary is starting to empty. The first to return was Frenkie de Jong, who after being out for five months returned to the pitch in the matches against Young Boys and Alavés. Now, once the international break in October is over, the Blaugrana club is awaiting the returns of Gavi, Dani Olmo and Fermín López, who are facing the final stretch of their recoveries.
The return of these four ‘stars’ represents a huge relief for Hansi Flick, who will have a wide range of options in the centre of the field and will see the competitiveness of his squad increased. However, this situation would leave a couple of players ‘affected’, whose participation in the first team could be drastically reduced and they would have to look for a new destination in the winter transfer market.
The two ‘sentenced’ by Hansi Flick
Such is the case of Pablo Torre and Ferran Torres, who were being used as substitutes by the German coach. The Cantabrian would go from being the third or fourth option in midfield to the seventh, having a practically testimonial role in the Blaugrana team. The player left good feelings in games like the one against Villarreal, where he scored a goal and an assist, but he has not been able to maintain this performance and Flick has reduced his minutes.
For his part, Ferran Torres continues to not ‘start’ and his performance is beginning to despair the Barcelona fans, who expect much more from a footballer whose influence in attack is increasingly null. For that reason, ‘El Nacional.cat’ assures that Can Barça would not look with bad eyes to give both players an exit in winter, either through transfer or loan, to get salary margin and ensure the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.
The next few months will mark the club’s roadmap with both cases, since if they manage to radically change their situation, their continuity would be on the table. Otherwise, the Catalans will look to place them in other horizons. At the moment, the ‘Tiburón’ is working on his recovery after suffering a muscle injury that will keep him out for eight weeks, while Torre will play the FIFA date under the orders of Santi Denia in the Spanish under-21 team.
