Ferran Torres will miss Barça’s next eight games
Bad news for Ferran Torres. In addition to not having his best season in 2024/25, with one goal and two assists in 10 matches (430 minutes), being one of the least influential players in the offensive front of the Blaugrana team, he will now have to face an injury to the right biceps femoris muscle, which will keep him out of action for seven to eight weeks.
This setback is particularly unfortunate for the ‘Shark’, who last season (2023/24) missed around nine matches (seven from LaLiga EA Sports and two from the UEFA Champions League – the round of 16 against Napoli-) due to a similar injury: a right biceps femoris muscle injury.
With the current prognosis of a seven to eight-week absence, it is expected that Ferran Torres will return to competition in December, thus missing the remainder of October and all of November. In this scenario, he is expected to miss approximately eight matches with FC Barcelona: five from LaLiga EA Sports and three from the UEFA Champions League, returning for the match against UD Las Palmas on December 1.
The matches Ferran Torres will miss with FC Barcelona
- Matches Ferran Torres will miss in LaLiga EA Sports 24/25
- Sevilla (20/10)
- Real Madrid (26/10)
- RCD Espanyol (03/11)
- Real Sociedad (11/11)
- Celta de Vigo (24/11)
- Matches Ferran Torres will miss in the UEFA Champions League 24/25
- Bayern Munich (23/10)
- Estrella Roja (06/11)
- Stade Brestois (26/11)
The absence of Ferran Torres is particularly significant at this time, as although he is not a starting player for Hansi Flick, having several options is crucial, especially someone like the Valencian who can play in different offensive roles. This becomes even more critical given the series of matches ahead for the Blaugrana team.
The matches Ferran Torres will miss with the Spanish national team
In addition to missing several matches with FC Barcelona, Ferran Torres will also not be available for the Spanish national team call-ups. In fact, he has already been left out of the Nations League 2024/25 matches against Denmark (12/10) and Serbia (15/10) in this October FIFA window. It is likely that he will also miss the matches in the November FIFA window, when Spain will face Denmark (15/11) and Switzerland (18/11), respectively.
