Flick Blasts Barcelona Players Over Disappointing Draw Against Celta Vigo – The Whistler Newspaper
Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick was disappointed with his team’s performance in the 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo.
Barcelona raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Raphinha, and Robert Lewandoski.
The Blaugrana capitulated after Marc Casado was sent off for two bookable offences in the 82nd minute before the hosts fought back with two goals in two minutes to snatch a 2-2 draw.
Flick-led side has now failed to win their last two La Liga matches, forcing the German manager to blame the whole team for dropping two points.
He said: “It wasn’t just ten minutes. We played a very bad game today, we have to be honest.
“We made a lot of mistakes, also in the first half, and we weren’t confident with the ball. We didn’t play the football we’re used to. We were lucky with some situations and in the end we got a point and we have to react because it can’t be repeated.
“These are things that can happen but we have to look forward. The least bad thing is that it’s only one match and we got a point but we’re not happy and neither are the players. Everyone can play better than today.
“It is not Jules’ fault alone or the red card for Casadó. It is the whole team’s fault that wins and loses but we will return to our level and I hope that what we saw does not influence Tuesday against Brest.”
Flick has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Nou Camp, leading the club to the top of the log, while scoring 42 goals, and conceding 14.
The Blaugrana have won three out of their four Champions League matches this season to occupy the sixth position on the log.
Up next for Barcelona is a home clash against Brest in the Champions League on Tuesday before they take on Las Palmas in La Liga on Saturday.
