Hansi Flick gives Dani Olmo update ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Athletic
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has offered an update on Dani Olmo ahead of Saturday’s La Liga clash with Athletic Club.
The new signing is yet to be registed with Barcelona and so had to sit out their opening game of the season against Valencia.
It remains to be seen if Barca will be able to register Olmo in time to play against Athletic, but Flick is hopeful he will be available for selection.
“This is not my job,” he told reporters. “Dani’s ready to play. We’re waiting for him. Hopefully, he’s on the team because that would help us a lot.
“He’s an outstanding player. You can see in training, when he’s under pressure, around the goal, he’s unbelievable. It’s good to have him on the team as soon as possible.”
Barca need more exits to be able to register Olmo. There’s also speculation club chiefs could put up a personal guarantee to ensure Olmo can play. Barca did something similar last season with Jules Kounde.
