Hansi Flick’s two favourite Bayern Munich players that could become low-cost Barcelona signings
Barcelona seem to be headed for a new project next season, especially with reliable sources relaying that Hansi Flick is set to take over as the new manager.
The coming transfer window, thus, comes to the limelight as one that could define the team’s future. Finances are indeed tight, but the new signings who arrive will be ones Flick sees as vital to his project.
Two possible signings
Having won the sextuple with Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick shares a special rapport and bond with several players in the Bavarian dressing room. It will thus not be surprising if some of the Catalans’ targets from Bayern ascend in prominence in the coming days.
Two players who could make the switch from Bavaria to Catalonia and were amongst Flick’s favourites in Germany are Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich. Both stars have been linked with Barcelona in the recent past and sit well from a financial front.
Both Sane and Kimmich’s contracts with the German club run until the summer of 2025, placing Barcelona in a good position for any negotiations that ensure. With both players having just over a year left on their deals, they could arrive as low-cost options.
Positions of importance
While Barcelona have several departments to fix ahead of the upcoming season, a defensive midfield and a winger is on the top of the club’s list.
The two signings, in that sense, fit well from a sporting perspective as well. After all, Kimmich would slot perfectly into the pivot position and relieve Andreas Christensen of his duties while Sane can be a starting option down the left flank.
Flick’s arrival could thus be the catalyst which lures the Bayern Munich duo to Barcelona and completes the puzzle for the Catalan kings. Working the finances for the high-profile transfers, however, could prove tricky and may involve a player being sacrificed.
