‘I would have signed any contract’ – Arnau Tenas opens up on Barcelona exit
Former Barcelona goalkeeper Arnau Tenas has opened up on his exit from the club and made it clear he really didn’t want to leave.
Tenas left last year after his contract expired and moved on to PSG, but the stopper has made it clear in an interview he didn’t want to move.
“The club did not make me a renewal offer. They even told me that the club is going through a difficult time and they asked me about a new complete proposal and I wouldn’t have had any problem, I would have signed any contract,” he told SER.
“I would have stayed. I even would have gone somewhere else on loan because it was my turn to play and in the first team I had no place. I didn’t expect to leave. They didn’t put an offer on the table for me to say yes or no.”
Tenas was also asked about a potential return and aid he would be happy to come back and play for Barcelona in the future.
“Coming back? Why not? Barcelona will always be my home. I hope, of course,” he added.
“But if at PSG, which is what is happening to me and hopefully it will continue to happen to me, I feel super comfortable, I will stay because I love PSG. You can never close any doors in football.”
Inaki Pena is currently Barcelona’s back-up goalkeeper to first choice Marc-Andre ter Stegen, although he did come in for criticism last summer when filling in for the German while he was out injured.
