‘I’m really happy’ – Hansi Flick drops hint over Barcelona’s pivot position
Hansi Flick has been talking again about Barcelona’s pivot position and has hinted the club may not bring in another player to play the role.
Several midfielders have been linked with a move to Barcelona, but the club’s top priorities right now appear to be Dani Olmo and Nico Williams.
Flick already has options his squad with Andreas Christensen and Oriol Romeu possibilities as well as youngsters Marc Casado and Marc Bernal.
And now the German coach has hinted that the answer to the problem position may already be at the club.
“At the moment, I am really happy with what I see [in defensive midfield],” he told reporters.
“I think we have players in the team that can play this position really well. All the players know what they have to do. It could also be one of the younger players, from La Masia.”
It’s already been claimed that Romeu could stay for another season at Barcelona, despite struggling under Xavi, while Casado and Bernal will have a chance to stake a claim in pre-season.
