Jadon Sancho transfer: Barcelona make feelings clear after being offered Man Utd star
Jadon Sancho’s career at Manchester United is over with the Red Devils attempting to move him on in this summer’s transfer window, with Barcelona one of his leading suitors
Barcelona’s interest in landing Jadon Sancho on loan is growing with Manchester United resigned to being unable to sell him.
Sancho is free to leave Old Trafford this summer having fallen out with Erik ten Hag last September. The Englishman spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, helping them to reach the Champions League final.
But he will not be brought back into the reckoning at United, with Ten Hag still demanding an apology that Sancho will not give. As a result, the Red Devils are keen to move him on in this summer’s window.
That is proving difficult though, with United’s £50million asking price scaring off potential suitors. With that in mind, they are now ready to accept a loan deal for the 24-year-old.
That U-turn has attracted Barcelona’s interest, with the La Liga giants keen to sign a winger this summer. But the club’s financial troubles mean that they have to stick to a tight budget, with concerns that they may not actually be able to register anyone.
According to Sport, United have offered Sancho to Barca, with new boss Hansi Flick said to be a fan of the Englishman. His loan at Dortmund has impressed Barca chiefs, who were originally offered him two months ago.
Barca pulled back from pursuing a deal at that point, but a potential loan move would interest the Spanish side. They are said to have not even considered buying Sancho outright, though a loan move would still present problems with his salary.
But Sancho is ready to cut his demands if it is the Nou Camp he is moving to. He will have to wait until mid-July for Barca to finalise their plans, though sporting director Deco is keen to target out-of-favour Premier League stars.

While Euro 2024 takes place, Flick has been getting to work, making plans for the new season. He was there alongside Deco, with the duo set to work closely this summer.
Flick is keen to bring to good times back to Barca after a difficult final season under Xavi. The German has already set out his plans to win titles with his new club, having led Bayern Munich to a series of major titles.
“I’m really looking forward to start working for this amazing club. Since I have arrived I have seen that everyone loves this club and does everything they can for its success,” he told Barca TV.
“In the first team there is a good mix of experienced players and talented young players. I think we have to work to be able to improve… I won a few titles with Bayern Munich and I’d like to continue this path at Barcelona.”
