João Félix transfer: Benfica may have the right formula, but will the player accept?
FC Barcelona is interested in keeping João Félix, but only on loan, opening the door for another club willing to pay for a permanent transfer.
Aston Villa, another club interested in the Portuguese international, are also reportedly only interested in a loan.
Meanwhile, S.L. Benfica are willing to make an offer for a transfer. Atlético de Madrid would prefer such a transfer over a loan, but it remains to be seen whether the player himself accepts the offer.
This is all according to a new report from Portugal, which also says that Félix may see a move back to the Portuguese league as a backwards move.
Atlético value him at 60 million, and Benfica have reportedly offered 30 million plus bonuses that would get the number close to that target. Of course Atlético would prefer it all in one go, but seeing as the other clubs are not keen on paying a transfer fee at all, Benfica could win the bidding war.
But it will be for naught if they cannot convince the player himself to make the jump.
