Lamine Yamal’s father offers update after stabbing as Barcelona star trains ahead of La Liga opener
Lamine Yamal’s father has offered a positive update after being hospitalised following an attack on Wednesday.
Mounir Nasraoui was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in a cark park, with police having subsequently arrested four people in connection with the attack.
Yamal’s father has now posted a message on Instagram and says he’s feeling better. He wrote: “Thank you to everyone. I’m better now, a big hug to you all.”
Meanwhile, Yamal was back at work at Barcelona on Thursday as the club prepare for their La Liga opener against Valencia.
It remains to be seen if Yamal will he available for Barcelona’s first game of the season on Saturday evening at Mestalla given the circumstances.
The youngster has also only made one substitute appearance in pre-season after being given an extended break after winning Euro 2024 with Spain.
New coach Hansi Flick is due to address the media ahead of the game and may offer some indication as to which players will make the squad for the trip south.
