Liverpool have clear incentive to hijack Barcelona transfer with bargain Dani Olmo rival

Liverpool may have not started their summer transfer business but that hasn’t stopped them being linked with a host of potential targets.

Arne Slot’s first window in charge has plenty to live up to ahead of a season of change. The Reds’ first campaign without Jurgen Klopp could go either way and the business in the transfer window will play a big part.

Since the season ended, midfielders and central defenders have been the two main areas of focus by Liverpool. Atalanta duo Teun Koopmeiners and Ederson are both reportedly on their radar with Lille centre-back Leny Yoro tipped to improve their backline.

Further up the field, attacking midfielder Dani Olmo has been linked with a move to Anfield. The RB Leipzig star is understood to be on the Reds’ radar as well as Barcelona with him having a £51m release clause. However, there could be an alternative for Slot.

Xavi Simons is a player who is likely to be on the move this summer. The Netherlands international spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig after rejoining Paris Saint-Germain last summer, contributing to 25 goals in all competitions.

Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Leipzig are all reportedly keen on signing him this summer but Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo, has reported that the 21-year-old wants to join Barcelona.
