Luis Diaz makes feelings clear on Barcelona transfer by naming 3 favorite players

Luis Diaz named three Barcelona icons when asked to pick his favorite players during a recent media appearance.

Diaz, 27, is currently being linked with a sensational summer transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona after two-and-a-half impressive seasons on Merseyside. The Colombian winger is one of four Reds stars currently involved in the ongoing Copa America tournament in the United States, along with Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Alisson Becker.

In recent times, the three outfield players have been linked with either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Diaz is arguably facing the most speculation about his future, with Barcelona showing interest. Reports suggest that talks with his representatives are imminent.

Despite expressing his contentment at Liverpool, the rumours persist and have been a constant throughout the 2023/24 season. It wouldn’t be surprising if Diaz made the move to Barcelona this summer. His father has already confessed that joining Barcelona would be a dream come true for the forward.

Speaking to Win Sports back in November, Diaz Snr. said: “[The] truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment. It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there… There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team and one of the best in the world.”

While Diaz’s future remains up in the air as he represents Colombia at Copa America, his admiration for Barcelona has been made quite evident. In the Premier League’s ‘Ask Me Anything’ series, alongside Liverpool colleagues Nunez and Mac Allister, Diaz didn’t shy away from expressing his fondness for Barca icons when quizzed about his favorite players of all time and currently.

“Well, my favorite player has always been, since I was a kid, Ronaldinho,” Diaz disclosed. “You could say he’s, favorite legend… Current favorite? (Lionel) Messi. I’ve always liked Messi. I’ve always liked Neymar as well, but I’ll pick Messi.”
