Marc Casado to sign four-year deal at Barcelona, seen as ‘key player’ for future

Marc Casado’s contract renewal at Barcelona is all but a done deal with the midfielder set to sign a four-year deal with the Catalans.

The Barcelona Atletic captain will shortly put pen to paper on a new contract that will secure his future with the Catalan giants.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano brings the update and also claims Casado will be a “key player for the future” in Catalunya.

Casado has already spoken of his pride at being handed a renewal amid recent praise from president Joan Laporta.

There’s been speculation he will take Sergi Roberto’s place in the first-team squad next season if the veteran moves on when his contract expires.

Casado does still have one important game left with Rafa Marquez’s side. The team will play the second leg of their promotion play-off final at the weekend against Cordoba, with the scores level at 1-1 after the first match.
