Michel offers update on Girona’s interest in Barcelona’s Eric Garcia
Girona boss Michel admits he doesn’t know if his club will be able to sign Eric Garcia from Barcelona before the transfer window closes.
There’s been speculation that Eric could head back to Girona after a successful season on loan with the club last season.
Michel has been asked about the situation and offered up the following response.
”He’s not a player who’s here and therefore he doesn’t occupy my thoughts. He’s a great player and we all know that, but right now he’s a Barça player and I don’t know what will happen,” he said.
“The transfer market is open and Quique has my full confidence, but I don’t know what will happen. I’m sure we’ll do something.”
Eric has previously said he’ll stay at Barcelona for the season, but the club’s financial situation means there could be some surprise exits next week.
However, with Andreas Christensen ruled out for at least a month, and Clement Lenglet heading to Atletico, it could be that Eric stays on.
