Mobility recommendations for the Barça v Chelsea Champions League match at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

Saturday will see FC Barcelona Women take on Chelsea FC Women in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (kick-off 1.30pm CEST). The blaugranes are hosting this semi-final first leg at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, where the team played for the first time in November for the El Clásico match in the Liga F. This is a very special occasion when members and fans can enjoy their first experience supporting the team at the official stadium for the men’s first team games until the work on the new Spotify Camp Nou is complete.

An event full of surprises beginning with the players’ arrival

The Club has reached out to the fans to welcome the players as they arrive, which is expected to be around 11.15am CEST, with Passeig Olímpic 15 the meeting point. This will just be the start of an event full of surprises, not just in terms of the football, but also fan-oriented activities. On entry to the stadium, flags will be handed out so the Estadi Olímpic will look blaugrana, and once the gates open, a DJ will provide the vibes and there will be competitions on the big screen with Barça gifts. Siblings Carol Rovira and Joan Rovira will sing the anthem together, before returning at half-time to sing their own song ‘Dones de foc’ (‘Women of fire’), written specially for the team on such a special day. There will also be the legendary jersey shower during the run-up to kick-off.

Mobility and accesses

When it comes to mobility, and as is normal procedure for men’s football games, the Club recommends following a series of indications.

In order to respond to the different movements on Montjuïc and to meet every mobility need, FC Barcelona in conjunction with Barcelona City Council and the Guardia Urbana local police force enact the agreed mobility plan to make it easier for Barça members and fans to reach the Estadi Olímpic. The measures aim to make access and exit to and from both Montjuïc hill and the ground as smooth as possible.

As is the norm on matchdays, private vehicle access to most of Montjuïc park will be restricted from 10.30am CEST onwards, and the stadium gates will open at 12.00pm CEST. No vehicles will be permitted close to the Estadi Olímpic and accreditation will be needed to be able to access the areas around the Anillo Olímpico. Fans can also use the Fira 2 car park.

Access by public transport

The main recommendation for persons wanting to watch the game are to arrive at the stadium on foot or using public transport. Regular free shuttle buses will be available for match-goers from 2 hours before kick-off, with other options including the escalators to walk up, the Metro, and the funicular railway. Avoiding using private vehicles is requested whenever possible, as well as downloading the ticket beforehand and entering via the corresponding gates. When it comes to motorbikes, there are parking spaces for up to 3,500 around the stadium, and access via Avenida Miramar is recommended in this case.

Other standard recommendations include setting off in good time. The public transport options included the 150 bus route and the Montjuïc funicular railway, plus the Metro or FGC services to arrive closer to the hill – Plaza España (Metro L1, L3, L8 and other FGC lines); Poble Sec (L3); Paral·lel (L2, L3); Fuego (L10 Sur); Magoria – La Campana (L8 and other FGC lines). There are also TMB bus routes that go to Plaza España (D20, D40, H12, H16, V7, 13, 23, 46, 52, 65, 79, 91, 109, 150 and 165) and Passeig de la Zona Franca (H16, V3, V5, 23, 109 and 125). It will also be possible to take a taxi to the Anillo Olímpico. Finally, please remember there will be no left luggage area.

Accessibility indications for persons with reduced mobility

The Club has a series of accessibility indications for people with disability, reduced mobility or wheelchair users, and their companions.
