Official: Barcelona register Wojciech Szczesny in the UEFA Champions League

Following his signing last week, FC Barcelona have now successfully registered Wojciech Szczesny in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League squad.

The 34-year-old Pole came out of retirement to sign for the Blaugrana as an emergency replacement for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is out for the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.

The Catalans got Szczesny’s registration done in La Liga over the weekend, although he was not included in the squad list for the game against Deportivo Alaves.

Earlier today, Barça have successfully registered the former Arsenal and Juventus star in the UEFA Champions League as well – for the league phase of the competition.

Szczesny will be wearing the No. 25 shirt in the competition and is one of only two goalkeepers on the A List of the UCL roster, alongside Inaki Pena, with Ter Stegen being deregistered.

However, Barça do have three young goalkeeping talents on the B List in the form of Ander Astralaga, Diego Kochen, and Aron Yaakobishvili.
