It’s official: Barcelona have signed 26-year-old attacking midfielder Dani Olmo on a permanent transfer from RB Leipzig, the club announced on Friday.
Here’s the official statement from Barça on the deal:
“FC Barcelona and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dani Olmo. The player will sign a contract with the Club for the next six seasons, until 30 June 2030, and his buy out clause is set at 500 million euros.”

Dani Olmo returns home after a decade away from Barça, having left La Masia at the age of 16 to join Dinamo Zagreb. Olmo then moved to Leipzig in 2020, where he became a world-class player and a target of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Olmo finished his 2023-24 season by winning Euro 2024 with Spain, and now completes a dream summer by coming back to his childhood club to be part of Hansi Flick’s project.
