Official: Barcelona wonderkid bags La Liga U23 Player of the Month honour for August
Having made a sensational start to the 2024/25 season, FC Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has been named the La Liga U23 Player of the Month for August.
Barcelona have made a perfect start to the new campaign, winning four in four in La Liga, and the 17-year-old Yamal has been a key factor in their brilliant run.
The teenage La Masia sensation has already scored a goal and assisted four more in four matches, displaying his brilliance on the field game after game. His tally of four assists this season in La Liga is the highest by any player.
Naturally, the U23 Player of the Month Award was more than well-deserved for the Spanish international, who beat Pablo Barrios (Atletico Madrid), Christantus Uche (Getafe CF), Raúl Moro (Real Valladolid) and Alejo Veliz (RCD Espanyol) for the honour.

It has been a memorable couple of weeks for Yamal as he was nominated for the Kopa Trophy and then became the youngest-ever nominee for the Ballon d’Or award.
Now, he has also won the La Liga U23 Player of the Month for August, joining manager Flick, who was named the Coach of the Month.
