OFFICIAL: Mikayil Faye leaves Barcelona for Rennes

Barcelona have confirmed defender Mikayil Faye has completed a permanent move to Ligue I side Rennes.

The center-back moves for an initial fee of €10.3 million. Barcelona have also included a buyback clause in the deal set at €25m and have a 30% sell on clause.

All of which means the club can look to bring Faye back if he impresses in France or will receive another financial boost if he moves elsewhere.

Faye moves after a summer of speculation about his future. There had been talk he could be part of the first team for the 2024-25 season but instead Barca have opted to cash in on the youngster.

Barcelona will now be hoping they can finally register Dani Olmo following his arrival from RB Leipzig.

Olmo has missed Barcelona’s opening two games against Valencia and Athletic Club but could potentially debut on Tuesday at Rayo.
