Raphinha offers fresh update on his Barcelona transfer status ahead of summer window

As the 2023-24 season officially comes to an end, a new season begins for Barcelona as the club try to navigate what promises to be a very busy and consequential transfer window as sporting director Deco will go to work to build a new squad in the image of soon-to-be new manager Hansi Flick.

At least one big sale is expected to happen this summer, and one of the names most linked with an exit is Brazilian winger Raphinha, who has serious interest from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia and would command a big transfer fee that could be a big boost to Barça’s finances.

Raphinha is currently on his way to begin preparations for the Copa América with Brazil, and he was asked about his future by the folks at El Chiringuito. Raphinha’s answer was short and sweet, and makes his desire about what should happen this summer pretty clear:

Players usually say “I have a contract” when they don’t want to be sold and hope to fulfill their current agreement with their clubs. Raphinha has always dreamed of playing for Barça and isn’t interested in ending his journey with the club after just two years, so he’ll certainly fight to stay even if a big offer comes.

It remains to be seen what Barça’s position on Raphinha’s status is, and this story will certainly not go away as we approach the start of the transfer window.
