After Barcelona’s Copa del Rey victories in 2021 and 2022 and Unicaja’s surprise triumph last year, Real Madrid has reclaimed the crown after a three-year hiatus.

Chus Mateo’s side triumphed over Barcelona with a 96-85 victory in Malaga, further solidifying their record with a 29th Copa del Rey win.

Facundo Campazzo led the scoring for the victors with 18 points and guided the Blanco’s offense with six assists, earning the well-deserved MVP award.

Vincent Poirier’s contribution proved crucial in the final, as the Frenchman secured a game-high Player Impact Rating (PIR) of 32 with 17 points and eight boards, boasting a perfect 7/7 shooting from the field and 3/3 from the free-throw line.

Dzanan Musa and Guerschon Yabusele each contributed 15 points, while Gabriel Deck added 13, and Mario Hezonja scored 12 points for the winning side.

On the opposing side, Jabari Parker led Barcelona with 19 points, Tomas Satoransky had 15, and Jan Vesely added 14 points.

The Blancos dominated key statistics, outrebounding Barcelona 36 to 27, tallying five more assists (17-12), and securing 10 steals compared to Barcelona’s four. Real Madrid also capitalized on their opportunities from the free-throw line, shooting an impressive 21/24, while Barcelona managed only 7/13.

The game remained closely contested for the first 30 minutes, with both teams taking turns in the lead. However, when it mattered the most, Real Madrid began to assert control. With a decisive 12-2 run, they reached an insurmountable 93-79 lead in the final minutes.
