Report: Barcelona teenage prodigy likely to be loaned out by his new team to Ligue 1

Days after it came to light that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Marc Guiu for a permanent transfer this summer, SPORT is now suggesting that the Premier League team might opt to loan him out during the same season, with Strasbourg in Ligue 1 emerging as a potential destination.

It is said that despite receiving proposals from Barcelona, Guiu seemed to favour Chelsea’s best contract offer, which includes a preseason stint with the first team and the chance to compete for a spot, though it won’t be easy.

With limited experience in top-tier games, the 18-year-old forward will join a club that had a disappointing season. Despite significant investments last summer, they failed to win any titles or qualify for European competitions.

Finishing sixth with 63 points, doubts lingered over both their sporting performance and institutional stability.

It was observed that Mauricio Pochettino struggled to establish a consistent project or starting lineup last season at Chelsea, which could provide an opportunity for Guiu to make his mark, despite the intense pressure on such a young player.

Enzo Maresca, after a successful stint at Leicester City, has joined Chelsea as their new manager.

Known for his emphasis on possession and developing young talent, Maresca’s arrival could offer Guiu a supportive environment. However, the high-pressure nature of Chelsea adds another layer of challenge.

In addition to established players like Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling, Guiu may find himself competing with potential arrivals such as Alexander and Jonathan David, for a place at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are actively working on incorporating these players into their squad, and a loan move to Strasbourg, Chelsea’s partner club in Ligue 1, remains a viable option for Guiu to gain experience.
