Revealed: The total fee Barcelona ended up paying for Ousmane Dembele
Barcelona’s transfer business has made plenty of headlines in recent years after the club signed a host of high-profile players for lofty fees who subsequently failed to impress.
A new report in Sport Bild has now detailed exactly how much Barcelona ended up paying Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman initially arrived at Barcelona in the wake of Neymar’s shock exit for a fee of €105 million plus around €40m in variables when he signed in 2017.
Those variables have now been paid out and it’s claimed Barcelona spent a total of €148m on Dembele, making him the club’s most expensive signing of all time.

The variables in Dembele’s contract seem to have been easily achievable, such as paying out €5m for Champions League qualification and each time he made 25 appearances for Barcelona.
Dembele spent six injury-plagued years at Barcelona before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 after his €50m buyout clause was activated. During that time he made 185 appearances for the club and scored 40 goals and bagged 43 assists.
