Robert Lewandowski sets new goal target after strong start to the season with Barcelona
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has set himself a goal target for the 2024-25 season after making a strong start to the new campaign under Hansi Flick.
Lewandowski has four goals in his first four games of the season and thinks he can net more than 30 goals for the Catalan giants.
“Of course I want to score more goals than last season, for sure. But of course that would be the goal of scoring more than 30 goals, I don’t know, maybe 35. It also depends on the team. So I hope they give me plenty of opportunities to score goals,” he told reporters.
”I have changed my mentality a little this season because I am still trying to recover the strength I lost last season, I will give everything this season.”
The veteran striker also spoke about being reunited with Flick once again at Barcelona.
“Flick and I won everything in football. I scored a lot of goals, but as you know, the team that was there everything was perfect,” he added.
“With Hansi we played very attacking football. We tried to get the ball as quickly as possible and we also scored a lot of goals because we were focused on playing more offensively and scoring more goals. For me, as a striker, it was easier to score a lot of goals. We will try to play more offensively, score more goals and concede less.”
Barcelona’s No. 9 is currently away with Poland for the international break and will come up against Scotland and Croatia in the Nations League.
