Ronald Araujo sends message to Barcelona fans after undergoing surgery
Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has sent out a message to supporters after undergoing hamstring surgery over in Finland.
The Uruguay international is expected to be out of action for the next four months after going under the knife for an injury picked up on international duty at the Copa America.
Araujo appears to be in good spirits despite the latest setback. He posted on Instagram: “Let’s start with the recovery culers, Soon I’ll be fighting on the pitch as usual.”
The defender is one of several players out injured for Barca currently. He joins Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong and Ansu Fati in being sidelined ahead of the start of the new La Liga season.
Indeed new boss Hansi Flick is expected to have to make do without Araujo until November at the earliest, meaning he has some big decisions to make regarding his backline before the new campaign gets underway.
