Sergio Aguero sues Barcelona for $3m in unpaid wages
Sergio Aguero is reportedly suing former club Barcelona for $3 million in unpaid wages.
The Argentina joined Barcelona in the summer of 2021 but was forced to hang up his boots after just a few months with the club due to a heart condition.
Aguero reached an agreement with the club to end his contract early, but has now filed a lawsuit again the club over money owed to him, according to ESPN.
A club report is said to read as follows:
“On May 29, 2024, ex-player Sergio Agüero filed a claim for €3m that, according to him, he is owed as part of the resolution agreement to end his working relationship with the club.
“As of June 21, 2024, there was no conciliatory agreement between the parties. The club is now waiting for the claim to be processed by a local court for the next step in the procedure.”
Barcelona and Aguero must now await the outcome of the lawsuit, but it’s another financial problem the club could do without.
