The figure that FC Barcelona could accept to sell Ferran Torres
FC Barcelona has started to make moves in this summer market 2024/25. So far, the Blaugrana have officially acquired Dani Olmo, a move that, according to reported figures (55 million euros fixed plus seven in variables), has not been cheap. It is understandable that, to balance the books and strengthen their financial position for future additions, the club is speeding up departures.
In this regard, it seems that one of the players who could be on the sales list of the Barcelona team is Ferran Torres. The player from Foios had a notable 2023/24 season in terms of goals, with 11 goals in 42 games, despite not being a starter. Given his market value and the interest he generates, it would not be surprising if the Catalan club considers him a viable candidate for a sale.
How much would FC Barcelona ask for to let go of Ferran Torres?
Based on this, as suggested by ‘El Nacional.cat’, Barcelona has set a minimum selling price for the ‘Shark’ at 30 million euros. This amount aligns with his market value according to ‘Transfermarkt’, although it differs from the club’s initial expectations, which hoped to obtain 50 million for the Valencian player, an amount lower than what they paid to Manchester City for his transfer in 2022 (55 million euros).
This significant reduction in the price requested by the former Valencia CF player could increase interest in him. With competition in Barcelona’s attack, where at least two of the three positions Ferran can play are already doubled: right winger (Lamine Yamal and Raphinha) and center forward (Robert Lewandowski and Pau Víctor), his place in the team is compromised. Also, the arrival of Nico Williams or another left winger could also limit his minutes, considering that Dani Olmo can provide backup in any of those positions.
Moreover, keeping the Valencian as an impact player despite his wages (4.5 million euros net per season) could impact the team’s salary structure. Therefore, it would not be surprising if Barcelona considers selling the forward this summer, although it is not an easy decision, especially considering the stance of the ‘7’, who has expressed his desire to stay at the club and fulfill his contract until 2027.
