The young Spanish ‘pearl’ that Barcelona could sign at zero cost in 2025

The FC Barcelona, despite not being in a period in which it can make additions, are still waiting for the option of reinforcing their squad with players ‘low cost’ and with the potential to become top-level talents in the near future. Apparently, the azulgrana team, with a view to strengthening the Barça Atlètic, have set their interestés in one of the most promising players currently playing in the Atlé Atlètic; s most promising players currently playing in the Spanish league, LaLiga Hypermotion, which represents an opportunity in the market.

The new ‘jewel’ that Barcelona are monitoring as a reinforcement ‘low cost’

Various sources suggest that Barcelona is considering the possibility of acquiring the services of Antonio ‘Antoñito’ Cordero, a 17-year-old player formed in the youth academy of Málaga. The player from Jerez de la Frontera has left a great impression in Sergio Pellicer’s team, scoring three goals and three assists in 13 games of the 2024-25 season, showing great versatility by being able to play at both ends, being his main position at left back.

Now, the interest of Barcelona in Antoñito’ is not only based on his unquestionable sporting conditions and his potential as a future top player, but also on the option of his arrival due to his contractual situation. Why? Because Antonio Cordero ends his contract on June 30, 2025 and apparently has no intention of renewing with Málaga. Although the club’s sporting director, Loren Juarros, he remains hopeful of reaching an agreement: “I still have the feeling that we can reach an agreement. We will make an effort for Antonio to stay here, within the parameters,” said the manager.

However, if the situation continues along this path, the scenario of him joining Barcelona as a free agent is likely to become a reality. At this point, a relevant name could be that of Pini Zahavi, representative of ‘Antoñito’ and other culés elements such as Robert Lewandowski or Hansi Flick, who maintains an excellent relationship with club president Joan Laporta. This could pave the way for a transfer if all the pieces continue to fall into place as they have so far.
