Wojciech Sczesny picks out the player who has impressed him most at Barcelona
Wojciech Sczesny is settling into life at Barcelona after coming out of retirement and has been talking about his new team-mates in a new interview.
The goalkeeper, who is expected to be in the squad to face Sevilla next time out in La Liga, says Pau Cubarsi is one player in particular who he’s been impressed by.
“If you watch a game live it’s very different from watching it on TV and then watching it from the stadium you can see the way the players behave. Cubarsi has been impressive for me,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“After watching him on TV I expected him to be a modern type of defender who is nice on the ball but softer. When you watch him live he’s actually not soft at all and he makes very good decisions.
“Of course he’s good on the ball because his technical quality is very high but his defensive qualities are actually very, very high. I’m looking forward to partnering with him. He impressed me a lot.”
Cubarsi is currently with the Spain squad, preparing for Nations League ties with Denmark and Serbia.
