Wonderkid Toni Fernandez writes his name into history books with Barcelona Atletic stunner
Toni Fernandez made history with Barcelona Atletic on Saturday when he scored in the team’s win over Ourense.
The youngster caught the eye with a stunning strike to make it 2-0 to Albert Sanchez’s side, firing home an acrobatic volley.
Fernandez’s goal has also ensured he’s written his name into the history books. He is the youngest player ever to score for Barcelona Atletic at the tender age of 16 years, one month and just three days.
Rather remarkably, Toni was joined on the scoresheet by cousin Guillermo. He’s also in the history books too, becoming the third youngest player to score for Barca B at the age of 16 years two months and 20 days.
The two players look to have extremely bright futures at Barcelona and it will be interesting to see how they develop with the reserve team this season and whether they can do enough to convince Hansi Flick of some first-team minutes.
