Xavi Simons close to returning to RB Leipzig -report

Xavi Simons spent last year on loan to RB Leipzig, and after a successful season, was looking at his next move. Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and FC Barcelona were all interested, but he may end up simply going back to Leipzig.

Simons started his career in the Barcelona academy and was named by his father after the legendary Barcelona captain and manager, Xavi. Despite a push to sign him, Barcelona were rebuffed by his parent club, Paris Saint-Germain.

Regardless. both he and PSG seem to agree that he will not return to Paris next season.

PSG would keep Simons “under control” if he does not go to a European giant, while the player would be an undisputed starter if he remains another season on loan with Leipzig.

According to reports, all parties – PSG, Simons, and Leipzig – are in agreement over the move, and it could happen in the next few hours.
