Barcelona officials to discuss 44-year-old Premier League manager with his agents – report

As reported just a while back, the agents of Ronald Araujo, Edmundo Kabchi and Edoardo Crnjar, are in Barcelona and will be meeting with the player to discuss his future with the Blaugrana.

Interestingly, though, Kabchi and Crnjar also happens to be the representatives of Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The 44-year-old Italian tactician is one of the top managerial targets for Barcelona as they search for a replacement for Xavi Hernandez who will be leaving in the summer.

Barcelona officials to discuss De Zerbi with agents

The earlier report from Jijantes FC stated that the visit of Kabchi and Crnjar was mainly to discuss Araujo’s potential renewal and the other offers he has on the table.

However, now Ivan San Antonio of SPORT is claiming that officials from the Barcelona sporting department will be meeting with the agents to assess the situation surrounding De Zerbi as well, apart from Araujo.

The report claims that the meeting between the club officials and the two representatives is likely to take place in the next few hours, where the matter of De Zerbi will also be discussed.

De Zerbi, 44, has done a brilliant job at Brighton since taking over the reins at the club back in 2022. The fact that his teams play an attacking style of football and his ability to get the best out of young talents has seemingly appealed to Barça.

Despite the interest in De Zerbi, as things stand, a move for the 44-year-old is considered impossible for two reasons.

For starters, the economic aspects of the operation would strain Barcelona’s delicate finances while the manager himself is understood to be keen on continuing in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, his name will be discussed by Barcelona officials when they meet with Kabchi and Crnjar.
