Michel confirms he wants Barcelona’s Eric Garcia and Oriol Romeu at Girona next season
Girona coach Michel has said he wants Eric Garcia and Oriol Romeu at his club next season.
Romeu has been tipped to return to Girona after failing to nail down a place at Barcelona after switching Catalan clubs last summer.
Eric’s future is also uncertain after a good season on loan. Xavi has said he wants him in his squad for next season, but Michel is hoping he’ll stay.
“I am very clear, I would like Eric and Oriol Romeu to return to Girona. They would both be top signings and I would like them to return,” he told RAC1.
Girona’s Aleix Garcia is another player who is admired by Barcelona, but Michel is hopeful he will be able to keep hold of the midfielder.
“I hope to see Aleix next season too because he has a contract,” he added
“Our idea is that they stay, unless the player is very clear that he must leave. The only thing that can happen is that they come with so much money that they can’t say no, but we want everything to stay here.”
Barcelona will battle with Girona for second spot in the final weeks of the campaign. Michel’s side currently sit one point ahead with four games left to play.
